Summary
Bdubs just stared at the thing—not a thing, a monument. An intricate creation in a carefully constructed temple. It had everything from before; the four mounds, Joel’s helter-skelter and Ferris wheel, the worst house to ever exist with a globe sitting on top, and the eye-sore of a tower Mumbo and Pearl had put together. And to top it all off, there were four little miniature figures with sticks for limbs, standing in a circle as they had at the start of each week.
Or: Joel brings fragments of the Life Series into Hermitcraft. For better or worse.

Summary
He craned his neck up to look at Grian, eyes flashing with recognition, then narrowing. “You,” he said. If Grian didn’t know any better, he’d say there had been a bit of malice in his tone.
“Hello, Joel,” Grian said, refusing to let go of Joel until he was sure the man could walk by himself. “Feeling well-rested?"
Joel blinked up at him, then stared for a full ten seconds.
“I don’t know,” he finally said, rubbing his eyes. As indistinguishable as it had been, the malice seeped out of Joel and his gaze softened as he attempted to move a bit. “I had the craziest dream.”
Or, Joel brings unfathomable loss and grief to Hermitcraft

Was this what it felt like to win? To stand, alone, in the aftermath of the final battle, as the deafening silence lingered on like ghosts over his shoulders?
Was this what it was like to be a winner? To have to kill his best friend so they could all go back? To have this horrible feeling of hollowness in his chest, as though his heart has been torn apart and carved out?
Or; The final battle, and the aftermath.

"He's playing all bloomin' sides!"
"I am not," Etho argues, as if it'll get him anywhere. As if Joel doesn't have his picture under the definition for The Most Stubborn Guy In The World—he's screwed. "I'm only loosely involved with three factions, okay?"
Gem snorts a little, at that. "Loosely involved, he says."
"And how many factions are there? Like, four, total?" Joel says.
"—six," she corrects, because who is she if not the corrector of his never-ending mistakes. Joel kicks out his leg for her shin, and misses.
-
Etho makes a deal with the Four Gs. Joel is a ticking time-bomb. Gem feels that maybe she shouldn't be here for this.

title: pink pony club by chappell roan <3
it’s a personal headcanon of mine that the winners all have a hall with their stained glass where they assemble after the game to talk to the winner because they’re really confused and you don’t normally remember the games if you don’t win until you get into the next game. they also vent to each other there.
this is them welcoming joel.
except scar isn’t there because he’s in sunflower field with the shadow people.
for now at least
