You cracked a grin, despite the way your cheeks burned with shame.
”Yeah… still, it’s kind of embarrassing to realize you asked out a guy that doesn’t have any interest in you. But! Hey! I got my best friend of all time out of the deal, so totally worth it. And you know you don’t have to worry about me being all heartbroken anymore! I'm completely over you!”
Something in Papyrus’s expression flickered, and it must have been relief. It made the lie burn all the more.
