He reaches out and taps a finger to Eddie’s shoulder. He’s wearing an old baggy t-shirt from the donation drive, but there’s a trail of freckles on his upper arm, and Steve traces them with his finger. After a moment, he catches himself, and pulls away. There’s a heat in his cheeks and an odd feeling in his gut that he doesn’t like.
He climbs out of bed, and goes downstairs.
The house feels empty, even if it’s not.
Or, after the events of vol. 2 (which Eddie survives because i’m in denial), Steve pines like an idiot.
