Summary
Jay smirked a little, lowering his hand off Jon’s shoulder so that he could place it over where Jon’s hand rested on his waist. He then adjusted Jon’s fingers slightly, and beneath his fingertips Jon could now feel the flexible boning of a corset underneath Jay’s vest. Then, as if nothing happened, Jay placed his hand back on Jon’s shoulder, in the curve of his neck.
Jon suddenly felt out of breath.
“When a person first meets you, they show you a mask, a facsimile of themselves. Carefully constructed to be palatable to others. But to be a successful ruler, I've learned to wait until they tell you who they actually are,” Jay’s expression became something more hard to parse, before it fell back into that serene smile. “That’s when I make a judgment. The second impression.”

"Thank you," Jay said quietly, looking down at his feet. "For… for spending today with me. And actually, y'know, caring."
It was two sentences, but it was so earnest and vulnerable that Jon had to hold back a wave of emotions at it. Once again, it was something. Jon smiled warmly, and pulled Jay into a quick kiss.
Jon suddenly felt a wave of determination overcome him. To push that something, and to tell Jay-
"I'm worried about you."
