Sakura was – in Tsunade’s unbiased opinion – one of the most beautiful women in the village, both in character and in looks. Anyone who disagreed needed their heads checked (and she was more than happy to do the checking).

She sees him in the mirror before she ever hears him. Hands come to rest on the vanity on either side as he leans over her, his voice low in her ear. “How does it feel to be back, my love?” His mint breath tickles her neck.
When she does not give him an answer, he frowns, eyes black and glinting. In the mirror, he cannot hide what he is.
His mouth moves closer to her ear.
“Remember,” he says. “Remember that you have chosen this fate.”
