It’s stupid, and routine, but in Link’s experience it’s always the stupid and routine ones that go the most spectacularly sideways. He’s just had a hard fight in Castle Town where Guardians swarm. And yeah, he’ll admit that he took a walloping. So maybe in terms of his endurance– or lack thereof– it would’ve been more prudent to just overnight at Wetland Stable before pushing on to the end goal.
But dammit, he’s hurting in more ways than one and he’s been on the road long enough that he’s sick and fucking tired of sleeping rough, or with one eye open under rickety stable rooves. Most days he can find it in him to be more awed at the endless glory of Hyrule than worn-down by the low, constant buzz of danger on the edges of his senses, the world’s weight on his shoulders.
Today is not one such day.
