Then more walking began. They walked for miles, Thomas leaning onto Billie, but she was practically carrying him as they inched forward. They walked until they saw a sign for Beacon Hills, the name familiar to both of them for some unknown reason, so they kept walking. They were now at the edge of a town, it seemed like, as Billie tried to get her brother to keep moving.

Maybe it was stupid of Wylan. An impulsive decision. But he didn’t care. Something snapped in his mind that instant. He grabbed a flash bomb out from his bag and ran past Kaz, faintly hearing the man call out for him. Or was that Jesper’s voice? Wylan didn’t have time to think as the squaller got closer and closer to Inej and he was running out of time. “Get down!” He yelled out, praying to Ghezen that Inej would react fast enough. Wylan threw the bomb in their direction and shut his eyes in hopes the effect wouldn’t be as blinding. It went off with a loud boom immediately knocking everyone off their feet.
Or, What if Wylan gets captured instead of Inej?

Jayce’s hand presses into the small of Viktor’s back. And nothing else seems to matter any more.

Charles never manages to convince the Night Nurse to let him rescue Edwin.
Edwin spends the next 54 years running. By the time he finally makes it out of hell, he is not sure if he still has a place in Charles' afterlife. Surely Charles has long since moved on.
Meanwhile, Charles spends fifty years trying to make deals with demons, making friends with a shapeshifer and going slightly insane. Aces, right?
