I sink back down into the nest of blankets around us, letting out a quiet sigh. As if in response, the hand that remains on my hip tightens, pulling me closer, flush against him. I narrow my eyes at him. Even in the low light, my elven senses are acute enough to see that his breathing has now shifted. A slight trace of a smirk lifts one corner of his mouth as he pulls me close and rolls his hips against mine. My breath catches.
“You could have just told me you were awake, my love,” I whisper, still not willing the break the spell of hushed morning.
“Have I not, my heart?” His voice is a low rumble that goes straight through my core. As if in emphasis, the hand wrapped around my waist climbs higher to rest around my ribcage, and he moves again. This time, I can feel the hard press of him against me. I melt.
