Summary
Prince Morpheus, third heir to the throne of the Endless kingdom, has been cursed. Whoever his first spouse will be, they will die a horrific and painful death, and the prince shall be forced to bear witness to this.
Of course, this means that any suitor will be scared off from marrying the prince, so the king and queen come up with an idea. Morpheus will have to marry a commoner, one who would've died soon anyway, so the curse will claim them and not anyone of importance.
Enter Hob Gadling, a soldier fresh off the battlefield, with no family to speak of. Morpheus figures a man like that will die soon. After all, such is the curse. But fate is a strange thing, and it works in stranger ways.
And for some reason, it keeps making the new prince-consort prevent death from claiming him?
