Summary
Beneath the seams of fragile alliances between Fontaine and Snezhnaya deeper machinations stir. Fatui Harbinger Neuvillette finds himself unexpectedly thrown into the midst of political turmoil and intrigue alongside the unsuspecting pirate Captain Wriothesley as forces, both within and without, vie for control. Beneath the veneer of calm and a supposed plan another plot is in motion, one that threatens the upheaval of every life it touches, especially those entrusted with carrying it out, for better or worse.

Summary
It is an age of peace and plenty, they claim. Magic thrums through the seams of the world, the various nations of Teyvat are quiet in their own secluded corners, and the need for adventurers has been steadily dwindling.
Or is all truly so tranquil? An undercurrent of unrest swells beneath Fontaine as Wriothesley and his motley crew of adventures find themselves mired in the conflict which runs deeper than they dared imagine. A cataclysmic upheaval threatens to swing into motion as chess pieces are placed upon the board, driven by unseen hands as the balance swings precipitously towards ruin. Will a single adventuring party be enough to sway the balance or will the threads of fate finally snap?

“It was nothing,” Wriothesley responded, attempting a casual mein that failed hopelessly as the dragon shifted closer still, a huff of warm breath sending ripples through his hair.
“Perhaps I should show you just how grateful I am for this addition to my hoard,” Neuvillette rumbled, voice dropping impossibly low until Wriothesley could feel it rattling his very core, igniting a flush on his cheeks that had nothing to do with his proximity to the dragon’s warm body.

Like clockwork Wriothesley finds himself back in the dragon’s lair though this time he has a distinct purpose - paying off his "debt." And how best to repay the dragon for his benevolence and kindness than to bring him a gift? No, he’s not currying favor, he tells himself, simply ensuring that he stays in a certain someone’s good graces.

Summary
“A game,” the dragon repeated, tone smug and pleased, scaly lips tugging up in an approximation of a smile as it regarded the prey within its domain, “A simple game, one even you, a human, can understand. You avoid the bite of my fangs for three minutes and I will give you a reward. Whatever it is you desire.”
The promise was certainly a lofty one, words ringing with a peal of honesty and truth as the dragon continued to regard him through those stained glass eyes, coils undulating slowly behind it in synchronous waves that are undeniably hypnotizing. Wriothesley swallowed the thick lump within his throat as he forced his gaze to remain upon that draconic visage, fully cognizant of what it meant to look a predator directly in the eyes.
“I accept.”
OR
Wriothesley, a treasure hunter, is dropped unexpectedly into the lair of a dragon, Neuvillette. Will he outplay the dragon at his own game and gather the prize he so seeks or will fate have a different plan for him?
