Summary
Aether returned to Inazuma after spending some time in Natlan to enjoy a well-deserved vacation. After wandering around the city and catching up with a few of his friends, he headed to the Grand Narukami Shrine to visit Yae Miko, who was delighted to see him again, as shown by her usual mischievous behavior. When she realized that Aether willingly engaged in her constant teasing game, Yae Miko couldn’t help but find it thrilling, which led her to want to have even more fun with him. But Aether didn’t mind—on the contrary, he finally saw the perfect opportunity to get a personal revenge on her and show that he, too, could take the upper hand over her, and Yae will appreciate it more than she thought she would.

These are the words of Paimon, addressed to the four Archons, as she cries her eyes out over her best friend Aether, to the incomprehension and concern of the four deities.
The Traveler is not as kind and courteous as he once was, for his patience has been sorely tried on his travels through the regions, and he is beginning to tire of solving everyone's problems. Shortly after one gruelling mission, he snapped, went into exile and took it out on everything he could, leaving nothing but despair in his wake.
Aether is now on his own, hoping that by making this choice he can avoid the problems that arise every time he passes.
His friends worry about him and hope he will return to them, but will he want to?...
