    Jason thought of the cost of Gotham U tuition and book fees and multiplied it by four. When he said the number out loud he expected to be shot right away, but Hood only nodded once.

    “I’ll pick you up here tomorrow. Same time.”

    And then he turned and began walking away. Jason stared at him in shock. Before he could think better of it, he said, “That was a ridiculous amount you just agreed to.”

    “And you could have asked for more,” Hood shot back over his shoulder. He did not turn back around.
