Tommy was in trouble again, but this time he had really messed up.
His brother was sick, his wing might be broken now, and a strange man basically just said he was going to kidnap him. He hoped at least that they didn’t plan on killing him, but you could never really tell with gangs.

Summary
Tommy was often told that he was just a late bloomer, that he’d develop a power at some point even if he was a few years past the age he should have already developed one. His brother told him that his body probably wasn’t prepared for it yet, that he needed a little longer to be able to handle it and when he did finally get his power, it’d be a really cool one.
And yet, when Tommy turned ten and then thirteen and no power came, he began to lose hope. Then he was suddenly fifteen and his friends stopped telling him that it’d happen any day now. At sixteen, he had finally given up on ever having a special ability and instead focused on his studying, because if he couldn’t have a cool power to make his father proud, then at least he’d have good grades.
Tommy was now seventeen and currently eight feet off the ground and being shouted at.

Summary
Tommy had finally found his home, after spending his entire life in the foster system and being tossed from house to house and torn from person to person. He even managed to make a few friends, and they all planned to go camping once summer hit, something Tommy had never been able to do. He was ecstatic, practically vibrating with excitement every time it was brought up.
When his foster father finally offered him adoption papers on his birthday, barely a month before the trip, he’d been over the moon about it and sobbed for hours, although he would later deny it. The blond had finally allowed himself to believe he’d found his permanent family.
He was confident in saying that nobody was prepared for what came barely a week later.

Summary
When Tommy was hungry, he would crouch in the underbrush and wait for a rabbit to come by, shooting it with an arrow before spitting it over a small campfire.
When he was tired, he would rest against a tree or maybe climb into one for the night.
When he was lonely or scared or sad, he had no solution. Walking through the forest alone was better than being tortured by Dream, better than a pool of lava or a tall tower of dirt blocks, he reasoned. And he was only a temporary forest-man. Still, the quiet grated on his ears.
An AU in which Tommy runs away from not only Dream but the entire SMP, finding a new life and peace (and maybe an orphan who needs a home). When he's forced out of hiding seven years later, he's a changed man- Language:
