Andrew Minyard was a lost cause. A traumatic childhood jumping from one foster home to another led to juvie, that led to his brother hating him for keeping his promise.
Somehow andrew is still alive, and is currently starting his second year at PSU, on the verge of giving up for lack of purpose or motivation Andrew sees in neil a puzzle to distract himself. Neil became cruelty in the moments after her death. His father had pushed and pushed Nathaniel his entire life, until Nathaniel had nothing left but the cold edge of his cruelty, and the white hot anger that consumed him.
Nathaniel had always loved exy, the rush of each play, the speed, the skill, the violence. His mother had told him he would never play again, but she was dead, and Nathaniel was going to Evermore. So Nathaniel ended up at the nest, 14 years old and cruel.
