It had all started with one of her and Ron’s fights, which were nearly always about the same thing. He wanted to start the next chapter of his life - she didn’t want to stay home and become the next Mrs Weasley at twenty-two. She’d said she was done, and he thought she was talking about their relationship. She had meant the conversation. He’d gone out and didn’t return until the next morning.
