This time it was cats. A box of three kittens to be exact. Young enough to need bottle feeding. Clark had vanished, a photo of Superman looking mildly panicked as a trio of kittens climbed him like a tree surfaced, and now Clark was casually carrying a box of kittens around as if he was holding the most precious thing in the entire world.Series

Summary
Not that there was a lack of physicality on Clark’s behalf, but he didn’t throw himself at her the way Lois did with him. And that didn’t bother her, not really, but she had to wonder if there was a way to bridge that gap between them. It’s not like there was anything missing between them, but there was something missing in him that she noticed. A general lack of confidence. She’s sure everyone around her knew that already, but she had gotten so used to seeing Clark as Superman, she forgot it was even there. That, somehow, there was a disconnect between the two identities, and she was simply seeing what she wanted to see in him. But Clark didn’t gain more confidence in his day to day life, he simply became someone who could keep up with the tide just enough so that no one questioned a thing.
Thankfully, Lois knew Clark better than most.
