The year 1492 DR is coming to an end. After the Absolute had been defeated, Baldur's Gate and its Saviours began to heal. But sometimes wounds heal stupid, as Astarion and Nathy discover.
Astarion was catapulted into a world where he makes all the decisions - and he has to bear the consequences. Nathy had found herself as an unwanted darling of various societies of City of Blood as the darkness begins to settle elsewhere, much too close to home to her liking. And Halsin, our dear, sweet Halsin, builds up the people that have lost everything they ever had - or helps them find things they have never possessed.
One morning, Shadowheart finds herself in a company of a peculiar cat and with an invite to a party in her hand. If any of them knew what would follow after that fateful reunion, nobody would've accepted Withers' summons. It would've been easier. It wouldn't have hurt. Alas, none of them had the power of premonition and now they find themselves in a whirlwind of vengeful Goddesses and disinterested Gods as dice continue to roll, determining their future and their fortunes.Series

Yvie's life is hardly glamorous. Living on the docks doesn't offer much in the way of opportunity and she's only just staying above water as a surgeons assistant. Until happenstance and ill luck draw her into the Gates underworld in general, and the Zhentarim in particular. Life is about to change in many big ways, and not just for herself....
This is a sort of 'prologue piece' to the short 'Whiskey Red' fic I made a few weeks ago. The Rugan brainworm has bitten in deep and now sits like a damn tadpole in my brain, so now I aim to share!

With two discerning appetites, a deal to keep each other fed is the one thing that ties Astarion and Gale together. But the proverbial collar slips all too easily around Gale's throat, the lead feels right in Astarion's unchained hands, and both men think they've bested the other in a game neither should be playing.
In any case. As the greats say in lanceboard: there is no shame in losing to a stronger foe.
