Summary
Bilbo, Merry, and Pippin have been sent back in time to the beginning of the quest for Erabor, and they're not alone. But not everyone in the company was sent back, so not everyone knows who Bilbo is and what he can do.
Merry can be protective when people don't treat his cousin like the hero he is, even if he hasn't done his heroism yet.
This is an added scene to LikeTotesSecret's wonderful I Don't Regret, and does not make much sense if you have not read that first.

Summary
Sonic would probably be doing worse though, he rationalises. He’s still never been able to get over his fear of water, and would’ve just hurt himself in attempting to escape. Plus, with how tight a fit Tails is, Sonic would’ve found it near impossible to move around.
Really, he made the right choice, he decides as the water climbs to his shoulders.When Tails' decision to save Sonic from Eggman's latest trap ends with him in a race against time, help arrives in a form even Tails' genius couldn't have expected.

An academy AU Tarsus aftermath fic in which James T. Kirk ends up accidentally parentally bonded to an orphaned Vulcan child. When the father/daughter duo enroll in Star Fleet, hijinks ensue (mostly at the expense of Spock’s previously immaculate but quickly deteriorating self-control).

Still, the last thing he gets to see is the face of one of his dearest friends... until his eyes snap back open. Not in a hospital. In a shuttle as it lands at the Academy.
“Once you exit the shuttle you are free to return to your dorms. Those of you who are new, you’ll follow me to registration and physicals,” a vaguely familiar-looking officer says, and Jim’s heart stops in his chest. Surprising, considering it shouldn’t be beating at all.
