Summary
Sometime during Meliodas's 3000 years of life, he was sentenced to execution. He was also, however, allowed to choose the manner of his execution, and he chose an honorable duel to the death against the local king's knights. He was granted his wish and armed with a wooden sword.
That was twenty-four hours ago, and Meliodas is starting to get the impression they're running out of knights. Even the Holy ones.

This was inspired by @writing-prompt-s on Tumblr, and encouraged by @librathefangirl. It's my first fic for both the fandom and the pairing, so I hope I did it justice! (I think it's also my first fic that's entirely about canon characters and not OCs, lol.)
