Cid is living his greatest life. The renovation of his new house is going well, the academic year has started to wind down, and of course, he still has the love of one Clive Rosfield, his boyfriend and apparent vampire, to come home today every day.
So when Clive suggests they try out a slightly unorthodox use of one of his vampyric powers, Cid jumps at the opportunity.

Summary
He sees the scar on his cheek that swallows half his face with ruined skin. The voice doesn't have to say anything he doesn't already know this time, and he goes to look away—
—only for the rough touch of a hand to snap onto his jaw, preventing the movement. Cid is behind him, as he has been the whole time and naturally their gazes meet in the mirror. It's different from looking face-to-face, to watch his own features shift and melt slightly under the intensity of his scrutinising, calculating expression.
"Cid—" he starts to say, but stops when that hand holding his chin squeezes inpeecievably harder. A warning. Clive's heart flips in his chest.
"I did not spend my time," Cid says slowly, "making a mirror big enough to capture your entire visage just to watch you look away."

“I’m… Cid,” Cid answered lamely. “Cid Telamon.”
Clive smiled, the corners of his otherworldly eyes crinkling.
Cid swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. He’d heard many stories in his life, myths and legends. But he’d never really believed in gods. They weren’t something he could touch or taste or carve. They existed as shadows, larger than life and unknowable.
But here, now, in this dream… Cid was absolutely certain he’d just met one.
