"I wasn't aware of you also being an artist." He commented one day, after stealing a peek into Jayce’s notes, while he looked for a diagram he wanted to show Viktor to clear doubts about some issues they were facing with conductivity.
Jayce almost jumped on his place after noticing Viktor by his side. One would think he would be louder with him walking with his cane, but apparently even that became invisible to Jayce when he was too focused. A little embarrassed, he passed the page that had a note with a doodle of Viktor's face.
"I... uh... it's just a hobby." He answered, ignoring the sudden warmth at his cheeks when noticing the faint smile at Viktor's lips "You have a very drawable face."
"Do I?" Viktor chuckled, and Jayce’s point was confirmed.
Or; Jayce is fascinated with his new lab partner, so he starts studying him as an attempt to get closer to him.

Summary
It's dangerous enough being a Zaunite in Piltover on the brink of war. It's just Viktor's bad luck to have helped invent the thing that pushed it there. Now he's fighting to stop his work from being weaponized again, sharing his body with a power he's afraid of, and grieving the death he's already caused.
Jayce does, fortunately, understand.

Summary
What is left between them after the conflict is over, after everything is said and done and they remain alive yet changed in a strange new place? As they walk miles and miles, alone yet together, and Jayce is still Jayce and Viktor is anything but himself? How can they move past what was, rebuild something new, become something more finally as the last of the walls and the canyons that kept them from the truth of what they are and what they mean to each other are broken down and crossed?
Viktor doesn't know, cannot know, only hope to find an answer as he tries to find himself.
Alternatively: a series of vignettes following Viktor and Jayce after they wake up in an alternate timeline where they travel an untamed land in search of civilization, explore their own relationship, and fall inexplicably back into a love they can finally admit was always there.
