She turns to him, smiling softly, a kind look in her eyes. There’s flour on her shirt and a mug in her hand. She holds it out toward him.
“How was your day?”
He takes the mug in a shaky hand, letting the heat seep into his fingers. He doesn't take a sip. He smiles weakly back at her.
“It was okay, how was work?”
She gustily sighs, eyes darting to the mug in his hands before looking back at his face.

When Harry blows up Aunt Marge, Dumbledore decides he can't be left to his own devices in Diagon Alley for the whole of August and sends him to stay with the only person available - one highly displeased Severus Snape. Harry, for his part, doesn't think this summer could get any worse. After all, what could be more unpleasant than living with Professor Snape?

Something slams into him, and he hits the deck hard. His first instinct is, naturally, to punch—but he doesn’t get that far. As soon as he tries to scramble back to his feet, a knee wedges itself into his back and two hands seize tightly on his shoulders and press him down. A low, dangerous growl reverberates around him, and he freezes. Shit. Shit.
