It was a tiny divergence really. Oriko rather than going shopping on this particular day decided to stay in to study. The effects of this choice on the life of Kure Kirika (and Akemi Homura) however will be rather drastic. Still, the life of a magical girl is a rather lonely one, surely Homura will do better with a friend.

Summary
What if Homura did eventually succeed at her goal in the way she had planned? No wish from Madoka to erase all witches, no saving Madoka at the cost of their ability to be together. What if she managed to defeat Walpurgisnacht in a way that allowed everyone to survive. What would it do to a person, to have lived through the same month over and over again, only to find herself suddenly past it following a victory she wasn't prepared to actually experience? To see the first of May after an eternity of April?
