Senior Hueso idly taps his pen against the notepad as he recalls the soft, happy grin the two had shared when he’d approached their table. He’s seen plenty of customers, been forced to bear the turtles and their allies’ companionship enough times to know that’s not the way someone looks at just a friend.
“No,” he says, “but I feel this is something you think your brother needs to work out himself, no?”

Summary
“That’s not true,” Leonardo says, automatic, walking over with his hand lifting to place itself on his younger self’s shoulder. Before he can, though, he jerks away, curling in on himself more.
“Yes, it is!” Ah, there’s the anger. “I ruined people’s lives! Donnie, Mikey, Raph, they’re all hurt because of me! I made your worst mistake!” The boy looks at him, face pulled into a snarl, eyes sparking dangerously. “Don’t you get it? You’re supposed to hate me!”
Leonardo breathes in, then out. He keeps his expression calm, and he knows the air he’s giving off is of a knowing, wise leader. (He’s anything but.)

“Why?”

Summary
After the whole Kraang incident, the turtles are slowly healing from the aftermath of the experience. While some scars remain, rest does not come for the turtles when they are faced with a new enemy.
And especially for Leonardo, when he began to have hallucinations telling him how to deal with being the new leader. What bad timing to have mental hallucinations of other versions of himself!
