Summary
The little omen was, as the name suggested, an omen who roamed the overworld, identifiable by his relatively small stature (the latest report put him at about the size of a small pony, or perhaps a large wolfhound). Members of the Calvary had spotted him on occasion, as he was like to steal from tarnished camps and unprotected caravans when he could. Nobody knew how he’d gotten out of the sewers or where he ran off to when he wasn’t bothering travelers in Limgrave, but he had never actually caused enough trouble to warrant a proper hunt. Besides that was the omenkiller’s job, and they never seemed able to grab him.
That had been what they knew of him before the Mending. It wasn’t until the coronation, when he’d toddled dutifully into Leyndell behind Lady Malenia, that they realized the little omen was little because he was a child.
A young child, barely past eight summers.
The Night's Cavalry are informed their Lord and founder, former Veiled Monarch of Leyndell Morgott the Omen King, has become rather fond of a child. The child is an omen, so he won't ask the Calvary to protect the boy outright, but that won't stop the Cavalry from doing it anyway.

“Why are you the way you are?” Law asks, gesturing to Zoro and Luffy in their entirety. “You look pathetic.”
“Luffy fell in,” Zoro shrugs. Law thinks he may be the only person in the world who can convey both “Luffy fell in, he’s such a fucking idiot” and “Luffy fell in, what else was I supposed to do but follow?” in one line.
“I’m very sorry.” Luffy reaches up and pats Zoro on the chest.
“You’re a terrible liar.”
Luffy wheezes a short laugh. “I like swimming with Zoro.”
“Shut up, you little shit.”
“How about you both shut up and let me work,” Law grouses.
OR
Stargazing and snow, festivals and dreams, and the quiet change in the dynamic between Law, Luffy, and Zoro during a few cold nights on the way to Zou.

You know they had a seal that could swap body parts? Wildest night of my life,” the boatman’s eyes go distant for a long moment, “...but you kids are too young to hear about that.
“Anyway,” he continues, “our economy’s been a shambles since; maybe gets going for a year or two before it collapses again. No security of stability, so assholes like Gato think they can waltz in here and take charge. Boy, he'd be singing a different tune if the Uzumaki were still around."
Sakura’s eyes widen a bit at that, and even Sasuke looks up. Naruto opens his mouth to say something, but Kakashi puts a firm hand on his shoulder.
“What an… illuminating piece of history,” says Kakashi, “Thank you for sharing.”
