Summary
Uchiha Sasuke has endured pain far tremendous than one could possibly imagine. From being the sole survivor of the Uchiha Massacre, to severing his bonds in pursuit of fratricide, to becoming an internationally wanted criminal, and nearly dying at the hands of a God, Sasuke withstood the resilience to overcome whatever obstacles that remained in his journey of atonement. However, Sasuke would eventually come to learn that vying for Haruno Sakura's forgiveness would serve to be the most strenuous one of them all.

She didn't know much about the world outside the forest. Or rather, she had learned every detail about it, greedy for those tales, which seemed to bring her closer and closer to what was precluded. However, perhaps she had idealized the reality of the facts in her mind, romanticizing it in such a way as to make it luscious, so as to legitimize her burning desire to discover. That yearning had brought her closer to danger. She could still feel the elf's tapered fingers clasped around her frail neck. His hot breath brushing her face like a death sentence. His blood-red eyes, glowing like live fire. She didn't know why he hesitated, didn't wonder why he stopped, when with a simple and quick gesture of his hand he could have taken her life. She was still too scared to do it, still afraid her life hung in the balance.(...)
