Ghost hesitates, but shifts his balaclava up to his nose, takes a breath, and holds Soap’s jaw open to attempt to breathe life into his body.
His lips are cold. Too cold.
One breath more into his lungs.
30 chest compressions. Ghost counts each one.
Again. Two breaths into Soap, thirty more compressions.
"Come on, Johnny. Wake up," Ghost hisses out, his entire focus on getting this dumbfuck Scot up and talking again.

How many times does Soap have to almost die, only to be saved by Ghost? And when will Ghost get it through his thick skull that maybe, perhaps, he has grown a soft spot for his Sergeant?

Воспоминания со временем медленно просверлят себе путь, всковыривая свежую корку, пока она не превратится в рубцовую ткань. Будут вскрывать кожу, пока не истощат. Ты станешь прахом, развеянном по ветру.
А если пытаться сопротивляться Судьбе, ограждаясь жизненными травмами, которые служили защитой, то придётся признать, почему эти стены вообще были возведены. Каждый момент, наполненный агонией, насилием, муками.
Твои стены падут, потому что Судьба не терпит неудач.
И стоило Ей разрушить первую, как Саймон ощутил толчок.
