She remembers being hooked up to terminals monitoring her vitals. She remembers finally putting faces to voices. She remembers waking up. Breathing. Coming back to life.
Worst of all, she remembers the moments right before she died. That asphyxiating feeling that had overwhelmed her senses. The panic before she convinced herself that nothing she tried would make a difference. Nothing she tried would save her. She remembers accepting that this would be the end.

Summary
More than two years after falling in love on the Normandy, Shepard and Kaidan are thrown together once again when the Reapers attack Earth.
