Summary
After a mysterious accident leaves Xisuma with an incurable sickness, the Hermits are left to search for a miracle antidote. All the while, Evil X refuses to cooperate and Xisuma, paranoid and feverish, pushes everyone away. While the Hermits search, Xisuma quietly recalls the events that lead up to him falling ill. Perhaps the accident was merely the breaking point, and this sickness has been festering for a long, long time.

Scar squeezed his hand once more, trying to ignore the way his heart squeezed, too. “We won’t let Them. Take you back, I mean. Mumbo and I would fight tooth and nail to get you back, to protect you, if you ever needed us to.”
Grian was silent, his eyes fixed on the stars. “And if I wanted to go back?” His tone was unreadable, his expression blank, fixed on whatever it was calling him. “Would you let me?”

Or, Grian, Scar, and Mumbo are happy together. But with winter comes the calls of a life Grian tried to escape, stirring up old memories for everyone. Healing, of a sort, ensues.
