Summary
Gon has discovered interdimensional travel, the woman who just might be his childhood saviour, and a conspiracy surrounding the traitor he believed dead within the span of three weeks. He thinks that is quite enough to deal with for the moment, to be frank, but then his future self tumbles into his life and claims that he is stranded in their time period for the next couple of days.
Now, while this could potentially be very helpful, his older version eschews giving Gon any information about the future in favour of making cryptic comments and teasing Yeong. In fact, the way he latches onto Yeong is kind of making Gon uncomfortable.

“Let’s do this, then. Good luck to you two, and we’ll meet you back here in two weeks’ time.”
With that, other-Gon takes other-Yeong’s hand and leads him through the portal.
And really, this is where Gon should have clued the fuck in.
Instead, his brain stops all rational thought for about three seconds, and then throws itself into lightning speed mental acrobatics. Gon eventually comes to the conclusion that really, it’s not that strange. He himself has been known to drag people around by the wrist if he gets impatient, after all. And so what if other-Gon drags or, well, holds, his Yeong by the hand instead of the wrist? Different world, different customs. It’s all fine.
Or, more succinctly put:
Gon and Yeong switch places with their doppelgangers in order to catch the last of the traitor's followers, and it turns out they will have to fake a relationship to keep up the pretence.
