Kylo swallows thickly, then comments, “I suppose it beats confessing to a priest.”
“You’ve done this before? Confessed?” Rey’s question registers, perhaps taking a second or two longer than it really should, and he nods, eyes following the movement to her fingers working down the buttons of her shirt. “Maybe you should take a dip with me then. Maybe you’ll never have to confess again.”
Her top joins the shorts rumpled on a nearby rock, and then she’s reaching for the hem of her singlet, tugging up, pulling it over her head. He should look away. He should give her privacy while she strips down to near-nothing right in front of him. He doesn’t. “I think I’m beyond the reach of priests and ancient waters.”
