Summary
Alina had been fighting tooth and nail to get by before Mr. Morozova gave her a job. He hired her on the spot over lunch in a French bistro way out of her budget, staring across the table at Alina like she actually meant something.
As his housekeeper, the girl wasn't experienced enough to use professional only cleaning products, but Mr. Morozova still insisted on paying her seventy dollars an hour to keep his sprawling penthouse in order.
Alina didn’t care that there were hidden cameras everywhere.
She didn’t question the fully decorated, unused, pastel nursery at the end of the hall, right beside Mr. Morozova’s bedroom.
She even turned a blind eye to his 'business'.
The one thing she couldn't ignore was when Aleksander asked her to dinner.
“I would make you very comfortable, Alina. I’d see to it you want for nothing. Anything you need, everything my money can buy - I’d make it yours.”
Alina held an unopened bottle of dish soap like a buffer between them as Aleksander crowded her against the kitchen counter, close enough to feel his warmth; smell his cologne.
She couldn't look at him.
“Mr. Morozova, if I don’t wipe up that spill, it’s going to stain the marble.”
