Techno gaped at him. Tommy went to move away, when Techno spoke again.
“No- wait, hang on, that’s not-, you just said my words.”
“What the fuck? No I didn’t.”
“Yes you did,” Techno insisted, repeating the words Tommy had spoken, “Those are my words. You’re my soulmate.”

This was it.
Tommy was going to be killed by a single infected after three years of surviving completely on his own.
That wasn't fair. Humans were predators. They had evolved to be able to outlast any prey and fight other creatures to survive.
They weren't prepared for a predator that survived off of them exclusively. It wasn't fair that the infected could just go around biting people willy nilly.
"You're a fucking bitch, you know that?" Tommy snapped, "I do not consent to being chomped on. How would you feel if you got bit by a human?"
The infected was closer. Tommy was fully trapped, the infected about to grab him.
So Tommy bit it first.
He had been joking.

Carefully, he was lifted off of the nearby bench he had been put on, and raised in front of the person who had grabbed him.
His captor looked very cold, and very wet, but their eyes widened in curiosity. Tommy hissed. They had bluish-gray eyes, and a mask over the bottom half of their face. Their hair was hanging limply in front of their face.
Tommy scowled, “Oh and you’re a tall bitch too.”
The person laughed, “Of course I’m the type of person to find a feral kitten in the middle of the night on the way home.”
“I am not a kitten!” Tommy shouted. He tried to free his paws, but the hoodie was wrapped tightly around him.
“Okay.” The person said, clearly not actually responding to Tommy, “Let’s go home, I guess.”
