Summary
309 days. That’s how long it’s been since Ted took off on an American Airlines flight back to Kansas. Not that he’s been counting, of course.
He’s flown 5,348 miles to see Ted again, and right now, he thinks he’d walk to the ends of the earth twelve times over to have this for even a second.
or, the great Lasso and Crimm San Fransisco holiday.
A sequel to 'It hurts to be something, it's worse to be nothing' - I'd recommend giving that a read first!

Summary
“Do you really think it’s his kid?” The hushed tones accompanied by bleeting alarms rush into the room before being muffled by the click of the door. If he stays really still, he could pass himself off as napping, and then they might quietly back out of the room and might not have to hear whatever mundane trash Doris was spreading like wildfire across the ED. But as far as shifts at work go, today has been okay - his patients are on the way to recovery, no major drama or big accident to tend to. So for once, he plays into it, just as she wants.
“Hey Doris, which kid are you talking about? The one in two with appendicitis?” He says, sitting up straight against the slumped cushions behind him.
“Oh, hey Will. Didn’t see you there. No, there’s a Caitlin Rhodes in the ED, obviously I had to take a peek, poor thing is terrified. Weird that she has Rhodes as a last name though, right? Like, is she A Rhodes? Maybe it’s Connor’s sister’s-“Or, Will panders to Doris' gossip, and has his - and Connor's - world turns upside down.

Summary
“A toast,” Ted says, a hip leant against the kitchen counter, glass out expectantly. Trent takes his time as he slinks closer, raking his eyes across Ted’s form, mirroring his stance close enough that he can see Ted’s eyes twinkling in the glow of the oven.
“To one last night,” Trent says with a tight smile, at the same time Ted beams, “Long may we continue.”
“Jeez, TC, bringing the mood down before we’ve even begun.”or, Ted and Trent's final night in Richmond together.

Summary
“So, Trent, huh?” Beard crosses his arms, a smile creeping onto his face. The clang of Ted’s pen crashing onto his desk rings through the office, and Ted busies himself with packing his bag to head home.
“Yeah, y'know I really wasn’t sold on the whole book thing at first either but once we started talkin’ about it more it just makes sense-”
“No, Coach. Trent, huh?”or, 7 times Ted and Trent thought they were being subtle (when they really weren’t), and the one time they didn’t care.

Summary
That’s when Eddie gets an idea. An awful idea. A wonderful, awful idea. An idea that’s going to break his heart if he proposes it to Buck. He does it anyway. “You could say I was your boyfriend. I mean, Chris is your kid too, Buck. You should get to be with your kid on Christmas.”
Or, there’s fake dating, Buck is loved by many people, and Eddie Diaz interacts with snow for the first time.

Summary
“What do you mean you’re in the bridal suite?” Buck barks into the phone, pacing up and down the incredibly plush carpeting of this hotel room. “I’m in the fucking bridal suite.”
“Okay, Buck, calm down. What do you mean? We’ve got all the romantic stuff laid out—the strawberries and the chocolate and the champagne—”
“I’ve got the strawberries and the chocolate and the champagne,” Buck whispers, fingers so tight around his phone he thinks he can hear something cracking.
“What?” Maddie asks. “Hmm. Maybe there was a mix-up with the reservations? They’re both under Buckley, so… Do you want me to call the reception?”
Buck sighs. “No, no, of course not, Mads. Sorry, I’ll call them. It’s fine, I’ll just—I’ll get another room, because Eddie’ll be here in a few hours…”
or, having multiple wedding reservations under the same name was an accident waiting to happen and buck’s just trying not to jumpscare his best friend with the rather intense bridal suite decor in their very platonically shared hotel room

Summary
“Why are you playing sidekick for Chim?”
“I just don’t see why he can’t partake in boy’s night just once.”
“And I don’t see why he can’t crash your date with Karen instead of our night.” Eddie tossed in with a roll of his eyes.
“That’s different,” Hen insisted. “I’m getting laid tonight. You two…”

Summary
“I don’t think you need a dad, that’s not how families work, right? Like, they all look different,” Chris says. “But it’s okay if you want one. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
“What’s it like, having two?” Denny asks, and Buck has to cover his mouth so he doesn’t give himself away.
Christopher’s laugh is loud, and sweet, and tugs on Buck’s heartstrings in the same way that it always has done. He doesn’t even hesitate to say, “It’s fun. I love them.”
