Summary
Life didn't get any easier after Sirius ran away like everyone is eager to believe. It only gets worse when Regulus is too smart for his own good and gets shoved into seventh year potions and charms classes with his estranged brother and his merry band of imbeciles.
The downfall of Regulus' sixth year starts with accidentally befriending the infamous Gryffindor Princess Lily Evans when they're paired for a transfiguration project. He should have prepared himself that by befriending one Gryffindor, the rest will follow.
The worst: James Potter.

“I know moony-“ Sirius whispered as Remus was moving his hands in the air exasperated.
“No! Don’t call me that! You think we can still be friends after this? You think I can simply forget and get over it? There is nothing but hate that I feel towards you at this point! You only know how to hurt people, don’t you? But you are a Black after all, what was I expecting? You’re just like them.”
Remus couldn’t stop the words from leaving his mouth until it was too late. Sirius’s face turned white as a shiver went down his spine, and he felt like he was going to be sick. The words were like a punch in his stomach and the silence that lied between them felt louder and heavier than before.
Or, Sirius told Snape how to get into the shrieking shack…

Summary
Regulus Black had decided at a very early age not to feel anything deeply. If at all.
It was a dangerous risk to allow oneself to indulge in feelings when living in the Black manor. It was foolish and reckless to even entertain the idea. He had only needed to witness the punishments his older brother had faced to get the hint. Regulus had always been a fast learner, after all.
His new role in the family had seemed simple at first; don't be like Sirius. Even after Sirius had abandoned him, some ghost of his remained to haunt him afterwards. Regulus had never been like his brother. He had always been quieter, more mannered, more mature. The perfect son. Easy, right? Except, though he wasn't Sirius, being Regulus hadn't seemed to satisfy his parents either.

Summary

A different Black, who'd been hoping for the chance to speak in private with his older brother who'd fled their home over the holidays. But upon entering the Shrieking Shack, his brother is the last thing that he finds waiting for him.
