“Where’s Benny?” Gale asked before he let out a jaw cracking yawn.
Johnny whimpered, twisting his hands in Gale’s sweater. Gale frowned, glancing up at John and saw his concern mirrored in his furrowed brow. This was all terribly out of character for Johnny.
“Johnny?” Gale checked, reaching up to gently push Johnny’s hair out of his face.
Johnny answered in a cracked mumble, rubbing noses with Gale, “Benny left to try and trade for some extra canned meat and I missed him.”
