Life hasn't always dealt Pete "Maverick" Mitchell a fair hand. The loss of his parents, his father's supposed betrayal, Goose's death, Carole's death, Bradley cutting him out, Iceman's cancer, the clear resentment from the other admirals, the list goes on.
So he does what he does best. Taking all the pain, the hurt, resentment, grief and anger swirling inside him and shoving it down into the deepest, darkest crevices of his soul. A darkness that would emerge upon the burning in of the Darkstar.
