Медленно оттолкнуться от ели, что стала его постоянным местом жительства последние месяцы, и двинуться к трупу и Стражнику - темные синие глаза мгновенно заметили его, и момент осуждения его души прошел еще быстрее. Стражники не были монстрами, они были той частью системы мира, которой являлся и сам Гарри. Гарри не был опасностью для их Бога, потому что Смерть была столь же естественна и безопасна, сколь и жизнь.
Даже если это была их первая встреча так близко, они не сказали ни слова. Гарри, облаченный в черный плащ, как и его Наставник, даже не поднимает на Стража второй взгляд - только хватает нежно-голубое сердце-душу, что вышла из мертвого тела человека. Это сердце - первая душа, что увидела мир, первая смерть, произошедшая здесь. Гарри предвещает, что познав Смерть, этот мир никогда не сможет отказаться от нее больше, и теперь его ждет много работы.

Summary
Формула Доктора Рэда Скелетона была опубликована на его личной странице, состояла из двух листов - взамен пяти Гарри - и на самом деле оказалась намного проще и эффективнее, как и обещал монстр. Одну четверть всего текста занимали комментарии о том, где именно и что он упростил, и где был неправ Гарри. Это был чистый разброс, он прошелся по всем ошибкам, уложив их в несколько фраз и категорий. Поттер почти ощущал себя на уроке профессора Снейпа, когда тот был в особенно плохом настроении.

"It's easy. Stand by the creek, keep the reds away. Leave the rest to me. Athena always has a plan."
She pushed ahead, leaving him in the dust.
Easy, Percy thought. He could do easy. He barely knew how to hold a sword and use a shield but it couldn’t be too hard, could it? Annabeth wouldn’t assign him something beyond his capabilities. Chiron’s rules would prevent him from really getting hurt. It would be fine.
(It was not fine.)

“We can’t bring him. He’s a monster.” Annabeth said, putting her foot down and glaring at Tyson.
Tyson whimpered.
All the frustration and anger of seeing Tyson getting bullied all year at the mortal school and camp, and all the bullying Percy had been through just for sticking close to Tyson exploded and Percy saw red.
“He is not a monster.” Percy growled back, fed up. “Tyson is a being with thoughts and feelings, and just as deserving of respect as you and I. He’s never hurt anyone who hasn’t hurt me or him first. Considering how you’re treating him, dehumanizing him and calling him an it, gross and monster, I’m starting to wonder if you’re the real monster here, Annabeth.”
