Welcome to the worst year Hogwarts has seen since Phineas Nigellus' tenure as Headmaster. People are losing their jobs, clubs are being shutdown, innocent students are being expelled, detentions are worse than Azkaban, neither friends nor the government can be trusted, and Kitty suddenly really, REALLY hates cats (except, like, Aurora and Crookshanks). Even Christmas is no longer sacred.

Connor had been at the forefront despite his fashionably late appearance. He was the newest to deviate, and he supposed that made him the youngest amongst the androids. He had been the final one to wake up. He’d fought his programming, betrayed Amanda and everything else he’d been taught to believe, and put his faith (if faith was something he could actually possess as a machine) in Markus.
Hank was right. They’d been on the wrong side. In that moment, that moment of pure fear coursing through his system, overloading his sensors and rendering him malfunctioned, he wanted Hank. He didn’t understand why then, but there was a pull to the Lieutenant he couldn’t shake off.
