Summary
After a guilt-stricken, traumatized Harry returned to Hogwarts clinging onto the lifeless body of Cedric Diggory, Albus Dumbledore told Sirius Black to "lie low at Lupin's for a while", and to "help gather the old crowd". But Sirius, feeling more resolute and purposeful than he ever had in his life, looked the Headmaster directly in the eye and said, "No. Find someone else to do it. I'm staying with Harry. I'm not leaving him alone."
A story that diverges from canon, where the fallout from Cedric's death turns Harry's world upside down. But he discovers that even through the hardest of times, love and healing can be found.
Harry and Sirius learn to conquer their demons together. Sirius helps Harry to discover the true power of family, while Harry helps Sirius to heal from his time in Azkaban. He learns to do what he thought was impossible - navigate a world without James and Lily. In Sirius, Harry finds warmth and safety, and a reason to keep fighting. In Harry's emerald eyes, Sirius finds the motivation to become the man Lily and James trusted to take care of their boy.
And when the war starts in earnest, the fighting is brutal. But through adversity comes wisdom, hope, and the determination to prevail.

Summary
Sirius's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the headline of the Daily Prophet. The letters blared out at him, mocking him, taunting him. Harry Potter was dead.
I'm innocent. I'm innocent. I'm innocent.
He had used those words as a mantra. They had echoed like a drumbeat in his mind, and it was only the thought of seeing Harry again that kept him holding on.
But now, what did he care if the truth about Peter died with him? There was nothing left to go on for.
And so it was that the one spark that had allowed him to survive the Dementors' brutality flickered and went out.

Summary
It was just like that day, almost eleven years ago. Those unnatural freaks stood in the middle of the street, with those silly robes and ridiculous hats. But Vernon Dursley couldn't help but listen to what they were saying.
But it was all nonsense. It was complete and utter rubbish. Why should Vernon have bothered listening to anything they had to say? They were freaks, and he was normal. He was just going to get on with his day like nothing had happened at all.
Meanwhile, at Number 4 Privet Drive, Petunia's so-called "normalcy" is interrupted by Minerva McGonagall, and the news she has to impart sends Petunia's world into a tailspin.

Summary
When Molly received the news, she was utterly devastated. The young boy who had asked her so politely how to get onto Platform Nine and Three-Quarters was gone. Harry Potter was dead.
Molly was heartsick. No child should be attacked by a monster in their school, a place where they were supposed to feel safe. He had only been back in the wizarding world for a year.
But she didn't think about the fact that this boy was Harry Potter, and how the entire wizarding world was in mourning. As she and Arthur travelled to Hogwarts, all she could think about was that her Ronnie was hurting.
"Oh, my poor baby," she soothed as she held her stricken, sobbing son to her. "I'm so very, very sorry."
