AU after the first X-Men movie. While traveling through Canada on Xavier"s tip, Logan comes across a strange mutant caged in a freak show. He can get him out, but actually saving him will be a longer process, and may take an entire family of mutants. And they all might just insist on saving Logan along the way, too.
Features bigotry, multiple scenes of "spot the comics guest star", lots of road trips, and gratuitous amounts of Canada.

It"s okay, though.
Wade is going to die anyway, so he"s not going to put this kind of pressure on Logan on his final days.
So, yeah. Logan can"t know about his feelings.
The important thing is to enjoy what he has while he has it. So, he scratches the last item off his list, and rewrites it.

Or, Wade loses his mutation and his cancer returns. With only a little time left, he decides to create a bucket list and make the most of his final moments. Together with Logan, he tries to check off every item on the list.That is, until Logan decides he"s not ready to say goodbye just yet.

Summary
“Jesus, baby. You like all that about me?” Wade looks like he’s the cat that got the canary, but beneath that Logan can hear the vulnerability in his tone, the little moment of hesitation, can feel the way the rhythm of his fingers falters for a second.
Logan can’t help himself. He knows he shouldn’t say it, knows he should stuff it down, knows from 200 years of experience that admitting he loves something only ever ruins it, but he feels so drunk on pleasure, high on the stretch of Wade’s fingers in him, on the flush that spreads from Wade’s cheeks all the way down his chest, that he doesn’t know how to keep it inside. He leans over Wade and says, low and clear, so he can’t miss a single word –
“I fucking love it.”
OR: Logan gets fed up with Wade making jokes about being ugly and they fuck about it. With a hefty helping of Logan angst, too, of course.
