Pity flitted across Quinlan’s face. “Sorry. But we’re on our way back to the Temple right now and we’re gonna get this figured out.”
Obi-Wan sniffled and nodded. He reached out a hand for Boga, who was curled at his bedside. The frame was very low to the ground, giving him easy access. Boga chirped him a greeting and dipped her head into his palm. He ran his hand through her feathers for a few seconds, focusing on the way they slipped through his fingers.
“Are you hungry?” Quinlan asked.
Obi-Wan shrugged one shoulder and looked away.

Summary
When Obi-Wan returns from Bandomeer as a brand new Padawan, he is determined to prove to himself, his Master, and the Temple that he is worthy of this chance. What he thinks are just his injuries from Bandomeer are actually new chronic symptoms, though, and he pushes himself to collapse only days after his return. Everyone around him still thinks of him as a Jedi, but how can he be, when his body doesn't work the way it used to?
Or, Bandomeer causes Obi-Wan's previously mild and unknown disabilities to flare up and become severe, sending him into a crisis over his perceived inability to be a good Jedi. Slowly, he starts to accept his new reality and realize that this is not the end of his world, that he is not alone, and that he is more worthy of care than he'd ever believed before

Summary
After the events on Bandomeer, Qui-Gon reiterates that he cannot train Obi-Wan, but he tells Obi-Wan he deserves to be a Jedi. Obi-Wan follows Qui-Gon back to the Temple, becomes the padawan of Councilor Mace Windu, and dedicates himself to being a padawan worthy of a master who sits on the Council and invented his own lightaber form. Along the way, he bonds with his lineage sister, Depa Billaba, gets into mischief with his best friend Quinlan, and meets the Mand'alor, Jaster Mereel.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, unwanted child and then unwanted initiate finds himself a family that spans cultures and the galaxy. And when darkness rises up to threaten it, he defends his family with all the lessons and tricks the Force has taught him.
