Summary
Coming back from Lazarus Pit Madness was a process that Jason wished was a lot easier. Now that he wasn’t completely under it’s influence, he was struck with brief moments where it sang violence in his ear before he had to deal with the guilt that came after. He had family, now. Family that was often forced to beg him—beg the pit—to put the gun down.
It worked, for the most part, and Jason settles into a normal vigilante life as the Red Hood only to quickly realize that he doesn’t have much of a civilian life.
He does his best to remedy this, though he’s not sure how to cope with the fact that he finds it nearly impossible to imagine himself leading a normal life without also imagining Tim by his side.
OR Jason trying to find a new normal while still recovering from his dip in the pit.

Summary
It was easy to figure out that Jason Todd was the Red Hood and even easier to figure out what came next.
Jason wasn’t really doing much to hide his plans—Tim could see how he hated the Bats and could hear every comment he made about the newest Robin and it was obvious he was planning something.
The guns on his hips didn’t leave him much doubt as to what those plans were.
The hard part was coming to terms with it.
The hard part was looking himself in the mirror and knowing he was living on borrowed time. It was going out each night looking for a red helmet, only ever seeing it hidden in shadows behind him—always watching, always waiting. It was staring at his laundry basket and wondering if he should take care of that or if he’d have a bullet in his skull before he could move it to the dryer.

Tim figures out that Jason is going to kill him so he can take back his rightful place and join the family again.
He decides to do the only reasonable thing and minimize the fallout of his death before it occurs.
According to Jason, this is the wrong thing to do.

He wondered, briefly, if the boy didn't like him.
Tim didn't laugh at his jokes and when he stopped by Batburger and asked the boy if he wanted anything, he just shook his head no.
They both ignored the way Tim's stomach rumbled as he sat next to Dick while the man ate his mid-patrol meal.
Dick didn't want to make Tim uncomfortable by bringing it up first, so he waited for Tim to mention it—to ask for some of his fries or even just take them, but the boy never did.
Dick finished eating and Tim stayed silent.
