“Yeah, I know that too.” Kousei nodded. “But there’s really no need to be so worried. I’m not shallow.”
Eijun raised a brow.
“Okay, not that shallow. You know what I mean.” Kousei snickered and brought Eijun closer. “I told you once and I can tell you some more, but I love you for you. Dirty farm boy shit or not.” He bumped their foreheads, and Eijun held back a shiver at the sheer seriousness and fondness in his boyfriend’s eyes. “Just like how you love me and my dumb city boy things. Remember when you threw a fit at how my plants were dying because I thought Sprite would work as water? Because it was clear too?”
Eijun pouted and plopped his head on the taller pitcher’s shoulder. He nuzzled his head in the crook of it and his neck. “I guess,” he huffed, “At least nothing is gonna die this time. Grandpa won’t let that happen.”
Kousei flinched before laughing sheepishly. “Well, I hope so!”
Eijun takes Kousei to Nagano with a bit of fear and insecurity in his veins. They leave with Eijun wondering what he was worried for in the first place.
