Penelope ran away from the Ton giving Colin what she thinks he desperately wants, his freedom. She loves him too much to allow him to be trapped in a loveless marriage with her.
Colin never expected to lose Penelope, his anger towards her pushed her to the point of leaving him promising he would never have to see her again.Thanks to the money she made as Lady Whisteldown, she managed to flee to Greece passing as a young widow with the name of Anne Bridges. She is set to be a single mother and raise her child away from a society that never cared for her and from a father who would think the child is only a product of her "plan entrapment".
Thanks to the help of his brothers, Colin will do even the impossible to get his Pen back.
