Summary
Zach and Zorian have finally left the time loop, but their story is far from over. Between the dangerous political climate, trying (and failing) to act like normal teenagers, and attending the most boring classes ever, our boys get a taste of what it's like to be normal teenagers after spending most of their lives fighting mythical beasts, rediscovering long forgotten artifacts and saving cities. Of course, their lifes can never be too 'normal'. It wouldn't be any fun otherwise.

(brief summary of the series for myself, contains spoliers)
Zuko, Jet, Smellerbee and Longshot meet while Zuko is saving little boy Li, and they sort of stick together after that. They end up travelling through the desert, where Zuko and Smellerbee are captured among other refugeed, though they escape during a scuffle with a different tribe than their captives'. It's a long test of endurance for the four of them to reunite and survive together out of the desert. Zuko insists on parting ways afterwards, not wanting to risk Azula or the fire nation coming after these people he's realizing he cannot help but care about (and who care about *him* in return). Jet meets Lu Ten in his dreams, several times. Jet gives Zuko his own birth name, Shi.
Brief timeskip, all four are in Ba Sing Se again, and they end up convincing Zuko to stay with them, this time. They believe him to be a mixed-blood war child. Iroh is in the city as well, though Zuko has not sought him out for most of his time in Ba Sing Se.
Due to a sequence of unfortunate events, Zuko and Longshot end up outside the wall during the drill attack. Longshot asks Zuko to put out fires, using his real name. He's known his real identity all along. Longshot afterwards confesses he is a former Fire Nation soldier, from the Yu Yan archers, who deserted after his first mission when he was 7 years old. Jet found him almost immediately afterwards, though he believes Longshot to be an Earth Kingdom former soldier.
Last installment: Jet takes the fall for Longshot and Zuko being outside the wall during the attack, and is taken by the Dai Li. He seems to have done some sort of maneuver to get out of the cart while being taken (assumed to be Lake Laogai), then he sees Lu Ten, which so far has only happened in dreams. Is he actually unconscious? Is he dead?
On the other hand, Zuko is suffering from spirit fever and has been finally taken to uncle, though their reunion is somewhat halted by the circumstances. Smellerbee and Longhsot have been staying with him, keeping him safe. -

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
The way I had to pause reading to scream or throw/punch my pillow from the excitement, how I kept muttering under my breath and going "nonono no way don't do thattttt" or "FUCK YES!!" or "Sasuke you fucking idiot they're gonna knoooowwwww you're being so fucking obvious!!" I loved everything about this fic. Wonderful read. Also I wanted Sasuke to be confronted over talking to himself constantly so bad!!!!!! Look at my little freaky ghost-befriending boy!!!!
Anyway, this is the fic where Sasuke is haunted by the hokages' ghosts and they all sort of become father figures for him. except for Minato that's a whole.... (gestures vaguely) thing. Lots of Kakashi & Sasuke introspection moments and very good play out of Sasuke & itachi's relationship. Sasuke is very very vulnerable here but I enjoyed reading a more humane take on him than usual
