Dream tries not to think about it too much, but with George beside him radiating warmth and care, not being afraid anymore, it makes him go back in time. He was always a giver, used to being a giver, comfortable being a giver. George took; George soaked up all of the love Dream offered him like a sponge, giving in back in stuttered ‘thank you’s and looks that lasted a little too long.
He remembers the first time he touched him: at the airport. Dream had to stay in the parking lot to avoid being seen, Sapnap dragged George by the strap of his backpack with a high watt smile that told Dream he knew the blonde was fucked. Sapnap practically threw George at him, and when their bodies collided in a hug that could shake the Earth, Dream knew he’d give all he had to do it every day.

Summary
Softly, he begins speaking. “You did so good, love.”
Dream should ask what he’s talking about, but he knows George. Knows that he isn’t just talking about him listening in the bathtub. Knows that he’s talking about everything they’ve done together in the past few weeks, and how overwhelming it all has been for Dream.
Suddenly, at the words, Dream feels tears filling his eyes. Before meeting in person, he’d never known George like this, and it was terrifying.
Soft, earnest, and nothing but sweet and gentle to him. Gone was the poking in an attempt to get a reaction, or the name calling filled with endless affection. Left in its place was only sweetness endlessly overflowing through every single one of his actions. It escaped in every look he sent to Dream, and in the way his giggles seemed full of mirth. It escaped in the way his voice inexplicably softened when it was turned in Dream’s direction, and the way his touches were all gentle and explorative in a way that Dream never thought to anticipate. He’s different here; he’s different for Dream.

Summary
As long as he"s ever known, George has been taught that gods are meant to be respected. You cannot be one with a god. You cannot hunger for a god, or for a relationship with one that isn"t needs-based. George doesn"t understand those rules and is willing to test them whenever he can. What does his family know anyway?
