Summary
“Oi.” Isaac calls out, gaining the attention of the room and pointing at them accusingly. “No alcohol this year. Thoughtful shit. Think about your present.”
A series of groans echo around the locker room, but Sam smiles. He never liked just buying people liquor, it seemed wholly impersonal and lazy.
The problem is, what to buy someone who has everything?-/-/-
Richmond do another Kris Kringle and Sam is wholly stumped as what to buy Jamie. When he starts to take notice of the man he notices some little quirks and thinks he might have just the present.

Summary
'Combative.' That's what Jake's been referred to as since he was a young adult. 'Combative, talented, but not friendly. Charismatic, but not sociable.' It’s written in his records, little notes from past commanding officers and the likes. It’s said by people he’s flown with in the past, too, by anyone that’s spent more than five minutes or a beer-hazed night with him.
Introverted; attention whore; reclusive; star-material in the making; solitary; hopeless; he has a bright future ahead of him.
Combative, and he refuses help. He can never accept it, he doesn't take criticism well, but it's never really been a problem because he does things so smoothly and seamlessly that there's hardly any room for criticism at all.
Jake isn't sweet, he's abrasive and unfriendly and downright hostile when he wants to be, which is usual, and he's, simply put, not sweet.

Summary
" Jake had never been very good at communicating clearly. Every time he opened his mouth, he spoke in knots that needed to be unwound in order to see past what it sounded like and understand what it meant. Javy had lamented the trouble Jake found himself in over it for years. And sure, Jake knew he was an asshole. He knew he was a downright, grade-A prick for the way he acted ninety-nine percent of the time. He was self-aware enough to know why most people hated him.
But being an asshole did not mean he didn’t care. He cared, a lot. So deep in his bones that he ached with it.
Sometimes he hated it, sometimes he loathed how deep in his chest he felt things, and he yearned to be the person that everyone assumed he was. Some days, he really wished he was just some narcissistic dick who only cared about himself and his own personal gain because that would be such a simpler life to lead.
But Jake’s heart was not so easily swayed. "

aka, Jake "Hangman" Seresin is a lot more complicated than he makes himself out to be. And sometimes, the road to hell really is paved with good intentions.
