Summary
Tony Stark was a hero, who sacrificed himself to protect trillions of lives across the universe, a bastion between Thanos and all those who had been brought back to life. But while everyone felt all this overwhelming gratitude towards the man, Peter Parker could only feel the grief-stricken hole the man left behind. His mentor, his almost father-figure was gone.
At least it was easier to cope and move through the grief with the company of another feeling the same pains.

Tony scans over Peter’s eyebags and stress gray hairs and the work bag he still hasn’t shrugged off because he has to be somewhere in an hour. He flinches at the scars on his face, the bruise on his cheek instead, his gaze lingers on his hands, strong and calloused, with grime under the nails.
“No,” Tony says, “no, you don’t.”
“I’ve been doing this a long time,” Peter says, “longer than you, longer than the Avengers, long enough to stop counting the years.”
