Summary
Zyanya eyed the cup of coffee with trepidation, gaze swiveling to and from the coffee and the raven haired woman behind the counter. The barista barely spared her a glance as she took the order of a customer. The Mexican woman slowly grabs the cup and heads back to the table where her computer and math notes sat. Her gaze barely leaves the barista, her original goal of studying swept from her mind. Zyanya’s eyes moved to the cup to make sure that it was her name on it once more, before finally lifting it to her lips. Her eyes narrow at the other woman as the taste of her usual mocha coffee dances across her tongue.
For a split second green meets purple, irritation clear despite them being across the room from another. Then the connection is gone suddenly, and Zyanya sets the coffee down once more on the table and tries to parse through the notes she wrote while only half paying attention to her professor.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku just couldn't find it in himself to give a flying fuck anymore. He's had to deal with so much shit since he was four, including:
1. Him being diagnosed as part of the 20% (most likely a percentage that was smaller than 20 truly) of the population that was quirkless.
2. His father just walking out on him and his mom because of said quirklessness.
3. His mother becoming borderline neglectful because of the last two facts.
4. His childhood friend becoming one of his major bullies.
5. The number one hero telling him to give up on his only dream.
And truly so much other shit he couldn't remember that could easily be traced back to that first fact (honestly all of them could be, but who's counting?). The only thing he had going for him was his desire to become a hero (even that was on thin ice. vigilantism sounded more fun actually). And maybe now that desire was based in spite rather than more heroic reasonings, but could anyone really blame him? So when he comes across the Hero Killer standing over a minor hero in a dark alley, he really shouldn't have doubted the power of his first thought: 'Fuck it, do it for the plot.'
